Boarding at Rishworth - recreation, health and friendship: a balanced life

Recreation rooms and study areas are provided in each House and there are also popular joint-house social areas, reserved solely for the boarding community, where pupils can mix. After lessons and prep., pupils enjoy the company of their friends and the use of Rishworth's excellent facilities such as the library, computer suites, swimming pool, sports hall, squash courts, basket-ball court, and playing fields.

All meals are provided and the catering, which is superb, has received many commendations. There is also a laundry service provided by the School.  None the less, boarders still enjoy cooking snacks for themselves in the smart, well-appointed House kitchens, and some opt to do their own washing. In addition to the extraordinarily diverse range of out-of-class activities available during long-lunch break and after lessons, there is an exciting programme of week-end excursions and activities, which includes stays in European cities, cultural, cinema, theatre and theme-park trips, museum visits, walks, tae-kwondo, basket-ball, badminton, swimming, fitness training, and cookery.
