Rishworth School PTA, like any other school PTA, relies on the support of parents, pupils and friends of the School to organise and run a range of activities which enhance the experience of the students. Broadly speaking this means helping provide funds to provide equipment, or fund activities which fall outside the educational budgeting of the School, but it also refers to the social aspect of the whole family involvement with the School at a variety of organised events.

The PTA funded some of the kit for the Trek USA 08 expedition.
Students and staff are pictured in Monument Valley.

All parents are automatically members of the PTA and are welcome to attend the monthly meetings held throughout the year.
During the course of a year a wide range of activities are organised to appeal to as diverse a range of people as possible: from Music in the Quad to flower arranging demonstrations, and from wine and cheese tasting to quiz nights.
If you would like any more information on forthcoming events, would like to come along to a meeting, or just wish to offer your support in some way, please e-mail pta@rishworth-school.co.uk or call the School and ask for someone to contact you.
Forthcoming events
9 September - PTA meeting 8pm
PTA Meeting at School: we’re always looking for new faces to join the team to bring new ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm. Can you spare any time to join us? You only need to commit to what you are able to do, no one will be forced to do anything they’re not happy with, but every little helps. Without your help and support there would be no PTA within school – please offer your help whenever you can.
17 September – New Parent’s Evening
All new parents and pupils are invited to school for an evening of introductions – meet the PTA, some teaching staff, and other new parents and their children.
Refreshments will be served.
Ladies’ Lunches
A new initiative to encourage mums in each year group to meet other mums. A location in either Rishworth or Denshaw will be chosen and mums invited to attend a lunchtime event. There’ll be no PTA ‘hard sell’, it is a purely social occasion. More details available in the Michaelmas term.
‘Test Your Tastebuds’
Challenge your sense of taste and geography with an event geared towards identifying the country of origin of wines, cheeses and even water and match them up with their national flag.
A challenge for both the connoisseur and novice foodies alike – the date is yet to be arranged.
