We are rightly very proud of the results that the students achieve in their public examinations at Rishworth School. In recent years Rishworth has even be included within the top 33% of schools within the country for ‘value added’ which indicates that the outcomes that pupils achieve individually are very high indeed, and often a grade or more than expected. Indeed, the overall achievement of students at GCSE is often in the region of 20-30% higher than the national average making it one of the most successful schools in the region. In 2017 this is likely to be higher once the results are fully analysed with a record 92% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades with several Grade 9s being achieved in the new GCSE examinations. Indeed, whilst there has been a dip in overall performance nationally, Rishworth has seen further improvement.
Students at A level routinely achieve the very best grades and the majority go on to study at the university of their choice, including a broad range of Russell Groups universities, whilst a small number opt to take up professional apprenticeships in areas such as Accounting and Finance.
