Rishworth School - GCSE Results 2017

We are very pleased to announce that this year saw a record level of pupils attaining 5 or more A*-C (or their new equivalents) grades placing Rishworth, a non-selective school, a few percentage points shy of other highly selective schools.

The results are about individuals achieving well against their potential, however, to have attained so well across a non-selective cohort is absolutely tremendous. We are particularly pleased with the performance of our students in the new reformed GCSE examinations which require greater rigour and academic discipline. Indeed, several achieved the new Grade 9 which only 3% of candidates have achieved nationally.

• 92% of pupils attained 5 or more A* - C (or 9 – 4 ) Grades
• A* - C (or 9 – 4 ) Grades: 86%
• 37% of the students gained 3 or more grades at A*- A (or 9 – 7).
• Top grade 9 has been achieved by a number of students.
• 75% of the students experienced what it is like to gain an A or A* (or 9 – 7).

In the interests of students’ entitlement to privacy, and in the light of the responses received from parents to a school circular which asked for their views about the publication of examination results, Rishworth School is continuing its policy of not publishing without consent the results of individual students.
