A-Level Results Summer 24

Overview:

  • For the fifth consecutive year over 90% of grades were awarded at A* - C
  • Over a quarter of all A-level results at Rishworth Sixth Form were with the best possible grades from A* - A
  • In BTEC and vocational qualifications, a 100% pass rate with all grades being within the higher grading boundaries of Distinction* to Merit

Commentary:

Students at Rishworth School have once again performed exceptionally, with 90% of all A-Level grades at A* - C, almost 15% above national average.

We are delighted to see students securing places at university to read subjects such as Mechanical Engineering, Accountancy, Bio Veterinary Science, Physiotherapy, Business Leadership and Management and Humanities. Students are progressing to a broad range of prestigious universities including those from the Russell Group: Birmingham, Leeds, and Newcastle whilst vocational students are moving on to Degree Level Apprenticeships.

Not only did students achieve well above national average at grades A* - A on traditional A-Level courses, those on vocational programmes, excelled with 85% of grades being awarded at Distinction and Distinction*.

Those studying BTEC and Vocational qualifications including Sport, Performing Arts and Food Science, celebrated 100% achievement, with all grades being within the higher grading boundaries of Distinction* to Merit.

Students performed incredibly well across the board, as their results demonstrate. Particularly excellent performance was celebrated with 100% of Art & Design students achieving A* and 100% of Performing Arts students achieving Distinction*.

Additional success was celebrated by students who achieved their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with 100% of grades awarded at A*-B.

Head of Rishworth School, Dr Anthony Wilkins, celebrated the students' accomplishments, stating "The Year 13 Rishworthians have not only demonstrated academic excellence but also proved themselves to be fantastic leaders and contributors to society. We are all incredibly proud of them and their fantastic achievements”.

GCSE Results Summer 24

Overview:

  • 92% of all GCSEs were passed with grades 9 – 4 (almost 25% above national average)
  • Just under a third GCSE results at Rishworth were with the best possible grades from 9 – 7 (A* – A)
  • GCSE attainments in Mathematics, English and Science were all above the national achievement rate with maths 24.6% higher, English 33% higher and science 26% higher.

Commentary:

Rishworth School is delighted to announce how proud we are of our Year 11 students for achieving exceptional results in their GCSEs. An outstanding, 92% of GCSEs were achieved at grades 4 – 9, almost 25% higher than the national average.

Rishworth is a non-selective, independent day and boarding school which welcomes students from a diverse range of abilities and backgrounds. Through the hard work and dedication of students, under the guidance of incredible teaching staff, we celebrated attainment well above the national average in maths (24.6% higher), English (33% higher) and science (36% higher), with those students studying optional subjects such as art, modern foreign languages, physical education and drama celebrating 100% achievement.

Jessica Sheldrick, who starts in September as the first female Head at Rishworth School, praised this year’s cohort stating: “I am so incredibly delighted to celebrate the personal, individual successes of each of our students; I cannot wait to welcome back our Year 12 in September into our brand new Sixth Form Centre for what promises to be an exciting and fulfilling year ahead!”
