Year 7 Entrance Assessment Day
Saturday 11th January 2025

Whilst Rishworth School is academically non-selective, as part of the application process for Rishworth School, all prospective students must sit our entrance assessment.

The CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test) is a widely-used entrance assessment designed to evaluate the academic potential of Year 7 applicants to Rishworth School. It provides a comprehensive insight into a student’s ability to think critically, solve problems, and learn new concepts across verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning.

The CAT4 assessment ensures a fair and holistic evaluation, helping the school identify each student’s strengths and learning style. This process supports Rishworth's commitment to fostering individual growth and academic success in a nurturing environment.

Children sitting the exam should not feel under pressure to perform and get top marks; it is solely for us to understand their abilities and position them correctly in the school with the right support.

If you would like to sign up for our Entrance Assessment Day in January, please contact Mrs Miller, Head of Admissions here: admissions@rishworth-school.co.uk
