BURSARIES & discounts

Since its founding, Rishworth School has operated as a charitable institution, rooted in the Wheelwright legacy of 1724. Every penny of our income is reinvested into providing an exceptional education and enriching the school experience for our students.

Means-tested bursaries are available to support families of current students experiencing short-term financial hardship. The level of assistance awarded is based on individual need, assessed confidentially through a declaration of income and assets, and reviewed annually.

We also offer a 10% discount to members of the clergy and a 10% discount to UK based forces families sending day students.

Siblings discount includes:

  • 5% fee remission for a second sibling
  • 20% for a third sibling
  • 50% for a fourth sibling

This discount applies whilst all siblings are still attending Rishworth and excludes Nursery.

To explore bursary support, please contact the Finance and Operations Director’s PA, Ayesha Blacker, at ablacker@rishworth-school.co.uk to arrange an appointment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Fees & Payment
All fees are payable in advance, before the start of each term. Monthly payments can be arranged by paying in advance (e.g., June–September for Michaelmas term). Contact the Bursar’s office to apply. Late payments incur a 1.5% monthly surcharge, calculated daily.

A full term’s written notice is required for withdrawal or changing from boarding/day pupil; otherwise, a term’s fees are payable. The Board of Governors may vary fees, with term’s notice whenever possible. No refunds are given for temporary school closures.

Extras
School lunches are compulsory and charged each term. Optional extras require a term’s written notice. External exam fees and emergency expenses are additional.

Entry Deposit
A deposit is required when joining and is credited to the pupil’s account. It is refundable after leaving, less outstanding charges. Deposits are non-refundable if withdrawn before starting. Families may also donate deposits to support scholarships. Deposit refund requests should be sent within one month of the pupil’s last day.

Payments & Insurance
Payments can be made by cheque, card, or bank transfer (details from Admissions). Fees are not reduced for illness; parents are advised to obtain insurance. Pupils’ possessions are not insured by the School; parents should arrange personal coverage. The School provides personal accident insurance for pupils during school activities in the UK.

Additional payments:
  • £120 registration fee (one-off payment, non-refundable)
  • £600 day student reservation deposit (refundable, subject to the T&Cs)
  • £1,000 EU/UK Boarder Reservation Deposit (refundable, subject to the T&Cs)
  • £4,000 Non-EU Boarder Reservation Deposit (refundable, subject to the T&Cs)

Please note that the Deposit is not a part-payment of any fees and will not be stated as fees received in your CAS statement.

Please see the School's Terms and Conditions for further information about the payment of Fees and Extras. The School's Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Admissions Department.
