Scholarships

Scholarships

Rishworth scholars uphold the highest standards, work hard, are role models to others and make a highly valued contribution to School life. Each year there are approximately 30 scholarships available across three year groups – Year 7, Year 9 and entry into the Lower Sixth. Early application is recommended due to the limited number of awards.

In very exceptional circumstances, we will consider applications in other year groups - but this must first be discussed with the admissions office.

Scholarship Value

Scholarships awarded range in value between 10% and 30%, depending on the talent of the student. As scholarships are reviewed (at Year 9 and Year 11) this figure could alter.

How Scholarships are Awarded

These are determined through 1) application, 2) assessment/audition and 3) interview.

Academic Scholarships

All new students to Rishworth will be automatically reviewed for an academic scholarship based on the results of their entrance assessment and school report.

Rishworth students progressing from Year 11 into the Lower Sixth will be reviewed based on their predicted grades.

Wheelwright Scholarship

Every year an incoming Year 7 student is awarded the Wheelwright Scholarship, which carries with it a fee remission of 50%. This is awarded to the student receiving the highest results on the entrance assessment.

Year 7
A number of scholarships are available for award to pupils entering the school in Year 7 in recognition of academic ability or for excellence in Performing Arts, Creative Arts or Sport.
