FORSS Update
FORSS
Friends of Rishworth School Sport (FORRS) are a fledgling group of parents, Old Rishworthians and staff who have come together to raise funds and further promote sport at Rishworth and Heathfield.
Since their inception in September, FORRS have hosted a Sporting Dinner that raised over £6,000 which has gone towards revamping sporting equipment at Heathfield and redeveloping the sports hall training gym at Rishworth. (Watch out for the forthcoming publicity shots).
In March, FORRS ran a hugely successful ‘mixed netball for grown-ups’ event that raised heart rates, funds and glasses in the pub afterwards. April’s events saw Sixth Form students taking on Old Boys, Old Girls and Parents in Hockey and Football games with over 70 people participating in these 2 enjoyable events. May has already seen the senior students taking on parents and OR’s once again - this time in a hard hitting T20 cricket match.
Next year FORRS events will be included in the school calendar with the group keen to reiterate that all parents and friends of Rishworth and Heathfield are welcome to attend meetings (usually one every two months) and to engage in some or all of the social and sporting events that will be on offer.
If you would like know more feel free to contact the group secretary, Toby Wood by email at tobyaawood90@hotmail.com or chair, Phil Eastwood at PhilipEastwood@live.co.uk or just look out for further information through Rishworth Post.
