Rishworth School Foundation
It was an endowment from John Wheelwright that founded Rishworth School with the purpose of providing education for both boys and girls, the children of the poorest workers on his estate. This forward-looking educational ethos has informed our processes ever since, combining a rich history with a modern, flexible approach which sees an education tailored to help each individual student succeed. The School continues to supporting children from a range of backgrounds and means via a generous bursary and scholarship scheme.
Rishworth School is proud of this heritage and seeks to use it as a platform for its ongoing growth and development, this has led to the creation of the The Rishworth School Foundation which has a number of objectives at its heart:
1. Scholarship and Bursary Fund
First and foremost we wish to fund scholarships and bursaries for those deserving students who otherwise would not be able to join us due to financial constrictions.
Through the generosity of donors the School will establish a permanent endowment fund with the aim that the income from this invested capital will provide an additional number of scholarships and bursaries for particularly able and deserving students.
2. Capital Projects
Donations are also used to fund major capital projects throughout the year to help with the constant improvements we are making to the school.
To maintain our position as one of the top private schools in the North of England and in line with the school development plan, Rishworth has embarked upon a programme to develop and upgrade facilities.
How will your contribution be recognised?
The Rishworth Foundation is grateful for every donation it receives, no matter how large or how modest, because it is the accumulation of gifts of all sizes that will ultimately enable us to meet our targets.
However, it is clear that in order to achieve the necessary funding, the Rishworth Foundation will be dependent on the generosity of leading benefactors.
Recognition of such donors is clearly important and patrons may be interested in the “naming” opportunities which are available and which would provide a lasting link with the School. We currently have a number of opportunities available - Please email our Director of Marketing and Admissions, Richard Danks, who will be happy to assist you rdanks@rishworth-school.co.uk
On the other hand, those who wish to remain anonymous may do so.
