Welcome to our Staff Absence Information Page.

Here you will find all the necessary information, policies and procedures for all staff absences, of any nature.

 

Absence Through Ill Health or Injury

Employees should report sickness absence to their line manager or other nominated person as soon as possible on the first day of absence, before the normal school starting time. The employee should state the reason for and the estimated period of the absence. Reporting absence can be done via telephone or email to hr@rishworth-school.co.uk and by a third party if necessary. You will be emailed a return to work form which should be completed and returned prior to starting back at school.

Absence Request / Staff Cover Request:

This form should be completed to request an absence from work or to request cover. This form will go to the Head or a designated Senior Leader for authorisation. It is your responsibility to ensure your Line Manager (if it is not the Head) is aware of this absence. 

Teaching staff will be required to set cover work for any approved absence and are responsible for swapping duties around the planned absence and organising suitable arrangements for any out of class activities, such as EE. All cover work should be sent to the relevant group email.
