At Rishworth School, we know how important it is to pick the first step into education for your child. In our Nursery, we offer termly care for children aged 3+ and provide a safe, interactive, nurturing and kind beginning to a child's educational journey.
Our Nursery provision goes above and beyond to offer children empowering experiences by offering preparation for school life through outdoor learning, swimming lessons and specialist teachers in PE, Swimming, Music, Drama and Art.

Facilities
We are proud to offer our separate on-site Nursery facility equipped with classrooms and indoor and outdoor play areas in a spacious environment, which includes our outdoor learning area.
Equipment / Resources
To offer growth and stimulation, our Nursery team have carefully thought of age appropriate materials and play areas which help to develop all the senses and make each day at Heathfield House interactive and fun. We continue to review learning materials and equipment depending on individual or whole class needs.
A Day in our Nursery
In the Nursery, children spend time: singing songs, listening to stories, sharing rhymes, playing games to build skills, developing concentration, sharing ideas, responding to questions and instructions, learning phonological awareness, developing confidence, developing independence and social skills, interacting with wider groups, preparing for school routines, learning time management and developing structured learning.

Opportunities
Children within our Nursery are offered great opportunities throughout the year, including Trips, Visits, Performing and much more. Here are some of the experiences we have available for our youngest pupils:
- Open Swim (on-site)

The Nursery Team
Our Nursery is lead by our kind and caring team built from experienced teachers and support staff along with visiting specialists teachers who provide a unique and dynamic experience for pupils in their care. So, who is who?
