World Book Days

World Book Day 2023

From the 3 Little Pigs to The Cat in the Hat, Rishworth's and Heathfield's World Book Day was filled with Characters from all stretches of the story books.

Not only did we have amazing outfits, many of students really embracing their characters, the day was filled with activities including spoon designing, drop everything and read and a £1 book token event.

We always love to celebrate World Book Day as there is nothing more joyful than seeing people use their imagination in which every way they wish, whether that is reading a good book, being creative with costumes or designing something such as the spoon. The day sparked a lot of reading interests, especially for Heathfield pupils, and the solo and buddy reading has continued over the week.

World Book Day 2022

Harry Potter, Spiderman and Willy Wonka were just a few of the stars hanging around Rishworth and Heathfield Prep on Thursday, as the school celebrated World Book Day 2022.

Students and staff from across the school took part in dressing up as their favourite characters to mark the 25th anniversary of World Book Day, which highlights and encourages children and young people to read every day.

At Heathfield Prep, children even hosted a bake sale to raise money for the charity, which distributes tens of thousands of books to children each year.
