Joseph, Ben and Addison - 10 Miles for Happy Days

Joseph, Ben and Addison at the top of Beacon Hill, almost half-way through their walk.

On Saturday 20th April, Joseph, Ben and Addison walked 10 miles in Halifax to help raise money for a local charity, Happy Days. The walk route was based in and around Halifax with visits to 10 major landmarks along the way, all in celebration of the 10 years of vital work that Happy Days has carried out helping the homeless and those in crisis.

Happy Days supports and empowers people who are homeless or in crisis across Calderdale to live independent and purposeful lives by helping them to access the advice and services they need to bring about sustainable change. They do this by providing a range of services including an engagement service which connects people with the specific support they need.

Happy Days meets the growing demands of those struggling to cope with the cost of living crisis by operating a broad range of services that tackle homelessness and food poverty. These include The Winter Shelter, Halifax Community Supermarket and The Community Café at The Gathering Place.

Joseph, Ben and Addison saw an opportunity to support such an incredible charity, have has already raise a strong amount of money from their walk. They are still fundraising and would hugely appreciate your support.

Taylor - Dancing his way to the US

Taylor (bottom-left) with dance group at the HHI competition.

Taylor, Y9, recently travelled to London with his dance team to compete in the Hip Hop International Competition in hopes of qualifying for the World Finals in Arizona, America, later this year. His dance school from Oldham had four teams qualify for the finals, with a total of 11 dancers now looking to travel in the summer and compete at the world finals in Arizona, USA.

This is a significant achievement for Taylor, his crew and his fantastic Dance School. We as a school are incredibly proud of Taylors' achievements and we really want to show our support and help him make it out to America this Summer. We also know that many of you within our community love to follow Taylors dancing journey and may want to show your support as well, therefore we are excited to share that Taylor and his crew have set up a GoFundMe page where you can read more about his trip and donate.

If you would like to donate to Taylor's GoFundMe page or your company would like to sponsor him or his Dance School at the World Finals, please contact us directly via:

Alex - Team GB Fencer's Journey to NZ

Alex (left) with Team GB Fencing Partner

Back in 2023, Alex entered the British Cadet Championships and speared his way to the top of his categories to be named the National Cadet Men’s Sabre Fencing Champion.

In July 2024, Alex is hoping to attend a new competition in New Zealand after qualifying for the GB Team this year for the Men's Under 20 Sabre team at the 2024 Cadet & Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships.

The trip to New Zealand, and the chance to compete in such a competition, is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we really hope to show him support as a school and as a community. We therefore share with you that Alex has created a GoFundMe to raise funds for his trip.

If you would like to donate to Alex's GoFundMe page or your company would like to sponsor him on his trip, please contact us directly via:
